Nevyan Dimitrov will represent Bulgaria in the Volvo World Golf Challenge finals

The ninth edition of the tournament in Bulgaria was held at the St. Sofia Golf Club
84 golfers started in the ninth edition of the oldest and most prestigious golf tournament in the country - the Volvo World Golf Challenge. In 2004, the St. Sofia Golf Club was opened with this competition wich marked the beginning of tournament golf in Bulgaria. Ten years later, the Golf Club near the village of Ravno Pole hosted the competition yet again.
Participants in the Volvo World Golf Challenge tournament were divided into three divisions according to their handicap. In Division A (handicap 0-9), Individual Stroke Play was played on 18 holes. Players in Division B (handicap 10-19) and Division C (handicap 20-28) competed in the Individual Stableford format on 18 holes.
After a disputed 18 holes play, 13-year-old Ivana Simeonova came out as the winner in Division A; she ended with a whopping 68 strokes net result. Under the rules of the Volvo World Golf Challenge, however, only golfers over the age of 18 are allowed to the finals. Thus, the right to represent Bulgaria in the international final of the tournament in Shanghai in early 2015 won the father of Ivana - Nevian Simeonov, who came in second with 69 strokes. Stefan Kralchev ended with the same result and and took third place.
In Division B, the winner was Yuly Botev with 42 points, Ivan Golomeev came in second with 39, the same score as Galin Ganchev - the third in the standings.
Ivan Delchev won the competition in Division C with 41 points, Angelos Paraschakis came in second place with 39, and Albena Deneva, also with 39 points, came in third place.
The trophy for the best-performing lady was deservedly awarded to the winner of Division A, Ivana Simeonova.
Besides enjoying the excellently prepared field and summer temperatures, all participants had the opportunity to test the latest models from the wide range of Volvo cars. Guests of the organisers from Moto-Pfohe made their first steps in golf and had a lot of fun with a test drive and playing different sports - volleyball, badminton, table tennis and petanque.
