- The first of the two encouragement awards went to the Bulgarian Mothers’ Movement Foundation for its “El Paso project – hippotherapy applied to children from the village of Doganovo – creation of a bio garden and a book of ranch herbs”. The project’s goal is to introduce children from the Care Facility for Children Deprived of Parental Care in the village of Doganovo to the farm life, to teach them how to breed and take care of farm animals, to love nature and know more about it. For over two years now 7 children from the care facility have been visiting the ranch twice a month learning to take care of the animals and plants, to grow vegetables, pick herbs and ride horses by participating in hippotherapy activities.
- The second encouragement award is for the protection of the cultural heritage of our country. “The Garden of Symbolism” project, developed by the National Museum of Literature, creates an ecological centre – a replay of an old city yard from the beginning of the 20th century – in order to turn the garden of the House-Museum of Bulgarian poet Hristo Smirnenski into a unique “literary park” where pupils, students and visitors will be introduced simultaneously to nature and the cultural heritage of Sofia in an interesting and original way.
