Third party liability

“Third party liability” protects other participants in the road traffic from your actions as a driver of a vehicle.

The insurance covers the liability of owners and drivers of motor vehicles in case they cause personal injury, death or some material damage to a third party for which they are responsible under applicable law.

LIABILITY LIMITS:

The liability limits are the same for all insurance companies and are as follows:

In case of events occurring on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria:

For each event with one victim - BGN 2,000,000;

For each event with two or more victims - BGN 10 000 000;

Property damages- BGN 2 000 000.

In case of events occurring within the territory of a Member State of the European Union:

The minimum liability limits applicable in the Member State on which territory the insured event occurred, under its law or under the law of the territory where the motor vehicle is normally located, in case that coverage is higher.

TERRITORY OF VALIDITY

Third Party Liability Insurance is valid for the territories of the Member States of the European Union, the European Economic Area and for the countries who have signed the Multilateral Agreement.

These are the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Finland, France, Netherlands, Croatia, Czech Republic, Sweden, plus Andorra, Serbia and Switzerland.

GREEN CARD CERTIFICATE

The Green Card is an International Certificate - part of Third-Party Liability that certifies whether a motor vehicle has a valid insurance and whether the policy covers the territory of the country concerned.

Certificates are not required for EU Member States, the European Economic Area and those who have signed the Multilateral Agreement. There is no border control and it is not required upon entry into the territory of the country concerned. Countries where the insurance is valid are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Estonia, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Finland France Netherlands, Czech Republic, Sweden plus Andorra, Croatia and Switzerland.

A Green Card Certificate is required when traveling to all other Green Card Certificate countries - Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belarus, North Macedonia, Israel, Iran, Moldova, Morocco, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine and Montenegro.

The document is required when crossing the border, at a roadside check or in case of a road accident.
