#steniskanabala gives excellent opportunity to school leavers for the sixth consecutive year

On October 28, 2019 in Sofia the ceremony of distributing the scholarships to orphan graduates in 2019 under the #steniskanabala program took place. The Moto-Pfohe charity initiative provides an equal start in life for students who have lost one or both parents but continue their study at a higher education institution. Traditionally, the organizers report about the results of each season of the initiative during an open event attended by media representatives, donators and scholarship applicants. The closing of the campaign in 2019 took place at the Literary Club "Peroto", kindly provided, free of charge, by the National Palace of Culture, Sofia. The Managing Director of the Moto-Pfohe Group, Masuhiro Oyama, welcomed the guests and beneficiaries and expressed his special gratitude to all donators – school leavers and corporate representatives. Rumen Ivanov, Managin Director of DHL Express Bulgaria - the traditional official logistics partner who charitably delivers the campaign symbol, the T-shirt, to the donators, also warmly addressed the numerous attendees of the event, as well as Petranka Nedyalkova, Director of the BRC Metropolitan Organization who takes care that the campaign donations are distributed under the #steniskanabala program regulation and reach the right scholarship applicants.

The results for the sixth consecutive year are for “excellent 6”. 2 242 graduates in 2019 went to their farewell party or prom wearing a T-shirt, instead of expensive clothes. Thus, the single donations from the young people reached a total of BGN 49 312. More than 50 schools have participated across the country - some of them are now traditionally enrolled, but quite many new ones have joined, which proves the growing popularity of the program. The communication of the organizers with the participants in the campaign process also showed that #steniskanabala is becoming a role model and every year, the young people strive to support noble causes for graduation and to help disadvantaged peers.

Corporate and large single donations were added to the amount of BGN 49 312 and in 2019 #steniskanabala reached the total donation fund of BGN 100 812. Thus, everyone who has applied for the program and complies with the regulation can receive one-time scholarships of BGN 2,000 each. These are 45 orphan students from the Class of 2019. The rest of BGN 10 812 will be used to encourage the best students who have benefited from previous seasons. Moto-Pfohe's partner in the initiative, the BRC Sofia-based organization, will collect assurances of score and provide these extraordinary funds within a few weeks.

As a national campaign, #steniskanabala aims to become more popular with students, but also continues to rely on the support of corporate donors. The cause in 2019 has united the support of: AT Engineering 2000 OOD, Car Transporter EOOD, Impress EOOD, Huvepharma EOOD, Generali Insurance AD, Express Logistics and Distribution EOOD, ACP EOOD, Alliance Print EOOD, Euro Steel Trade Ltd., Euro Steel Trade Ltd. Ltd. as well as personal large donations by Philip Pfoe, Dimo Nikolov and Atanas Furnadshiev.

For the first time the program will not close the donations site www.steniskanabala.bg until next season, which will be announced in the beginning of 2020. At the site everyone will be able to claim T-shirts from all previous seasons, since 2014, from the so-called ‘Vintage collection”, and the funds raised will be added to the financial rewards for excellent score. In the coming weeks, any former or prospective high school senior who likes the cause and wants to get one of the unique previous T-shirts will be able to do so by donation, online or by bank transfer.
